Liva Kalnina is a visual artist with a background in classical and jazz music. In 2015 she graduated from Baltic Film and Media School, in parallel to her studies participating in workshops with editor Martin Cihak, director Istvan Szabo and cinematographer Christian Berger. Liva has written and directed various short fiction and documentary films, in other projects working as an editor and cinematographer. After working as an assistant director in an audiovisual performance “Canticles of the Holy Wind” (composed by John Luther Adams, directed by Margo Zalite), Liva shifted her focus towards the performative art. She has been a director and light designer for multiple contemporary music and audiovisual performances in Latvia. Currently Līva is working on her Master degree at the ArtScience department of KABK where she aspires to define the autonomy of light design in scenography.
